What points should I definitely make sure to hit? How do you think I might go about sharing some actual play experience with these folks? Any other suggestions?
(And yes, I'll post my slides and other materials here, so you can take what we come up with here and use it to share storyjamming at your own Rewild Camp.)
I recently did my first Storyjamming session with my friends Willem, Joel, Wood and Patrick. It was tons of fun! We played Lady Blackbird. It's sort of like a cross between the tv show Firefly and the movie Nausicaa. While it was fun, it was in a fantasy space world. So even though we were creating a story together, it had little to do with reality. Jason, can you talk a bit about how storyjamming can be used to tell a collaborative story about the land we live on. Like specifically? Do you have ideas for game play that could do this? Do you have examples of it working?
I'm totally excited to start playing more. And I have a million ideas as to how to accomplish it, but I don't have the game language to articulate it yet.
In fact, I recently wrote about precisely that, with Mouse Guard. Quote: "I don’t think anyone at that table will ever forget the hunting habits of the northern shrike."
I wrote a post today on the Fifth World design diary titled, "The Future of Science Fiction." It really strikes to the heart of what I want to achieve with this storyjamming game. I came to the conclusion last night that I'll really have to have a version of this ready to playtest for Bioneers.
